HERE’S A LITTLE BIOGRAPHY ABOUT MYSELF, I AM A 54 YEAR OLD CONSERATIVE FIRST, REPUBLICAN SECOND. I AM A VERY CONCERNED CITIZEN ABOUT WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON IN OUR STATE AND NATION. I BELIEVE IN INDIVIDUAL LIBERTY, CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT AND DEFENDING OUR AMERICAN PRINCIPLES. I subscribe to a basic political philosophy for which the republican party used to stand for. And some do ask is there a difference between the parties anymore? And it sure seems that their hasn’t been much differences during the pass 20 years. As Ronald Regan would say “well” there is a difference! And I plan on bring back the conservative principles to our state government. I was born on February 15th 1955 in Glendale California. I lived most of my life there. I went to Crescenta Valley High School. I graduated in 1973. I enlisted in the u.s. army that previous January 1973. Once I graduated I shipped out that June to Fort Ord California for basic training. After basic training, I took my advance training as a crew chief on ah-1g cobra attack helicopters at Fort Eustis Virginia. I was then shipped out to Wi-Jum-Bu Korea. We flew support missions with the 128th aviation company, 8th U.S. army. We supported operations within Korea as well as supported Nixon’s Vietnameseation program, with other combined Asian operations under President Ford. After this I was stationed at Fort Hood Texas, with the 6th Air Calvary Combat Brigade. After I left the service in 1976, I worked in the fiberglass industry. I met my first wife Lisa and was married for 13 years, having three beautiful girls, Jessica, Joelle, and Becky. I was also at that time half owner of s.s.specialities. This was a business with my father, where we sold and serviced fiberglass and paint finishing equipment. My marriage didn’t last, and upon our divorce in 1991, I was working for a company called Erskine John’s Company. My father and I sold our business to them in 1991, during the 1990 to 1991 recession. They sold materials and equipment in the fiberglass industry. I came to Arizona in 1996 and was part of another fiberglass company at that time to develop the market place here in Arizona. At that time, I discovered how beautiful the state was. Things were going well, however missing that special person I found my wife Shannon, don’t laugh, I met her through the wanted ads in the paper. It’s a funny story, but I will let her tell her side of this story if she wishes to. After two and half years of dating, we got married at the grand canyon in June 26th 1999. She had three boys, where I had three girls. “o” yes the Brady bunch in reverse. We lived in Glendale Az. For 8 years. Over this time period, I had worked in the fiberglass industry till many of those companies were ran out of town due to regulations. I retrained in the telephone industry U.S. west thru a contractor called CDI telecommunications. This company had contracts with U.S. west, however when Qwest purchased us west, they cancelled all contracts with contractors. Well, after this I went back to school to become a real estate appraiser. After school and internships I received my certifications. I have been doing appraisals since 2001. During these times my wife was a nurse at Cigna Health Care and also went back to school to become an r.n. just before we got married. At this time, I had to file for bankruptcy. This was around October of 1999. During my divorce, I took on all of our debt, (credit cards etc.) since my girls were going to be with my ex-wife. I decided to take on the debt so not to put added burden upon them. Since then my credit has been rebuilt since the bankruptcy was over ten years ago. There’s a saying that you learn from your life experiences. This is so true. What happened to me during that time period of my bankruptcy, is exactly what’s been happening to our state. So I know how, what, and where to make the tough decisions facing our financial situation with the state. They won’t be easy, and I know some people will fight them as to salary cuts, program cuts, along with what I have mentioned in my updates. During this time period 2003 to 2006 as well my wife Shannon succumbed to the addiction of gambling. She’s been fighting this compulsive gambling over the past 6 years through gamblers anonymous recovery 12 steps plan, and counseling. We also have been blessed with two grandsons from my daughter Joelle. Joelle went through a divorce with her husband Matt. One of our grandson’s is from another father, where my daughter decided not to have a abortion which was a good decision and raise Troy with Tristen our older grandson. My oldest stepson Wayne, was going through his own problems during that time as well. Wayne became an alcoholic. He’s been fighting this for the past 6 years as well, and has just got himself together. My daughter Jessica graduated from Long Beach State University and received her BS degree as a nutritionist in 2009. My other daughter Becky whom has a BS degree in business from Riverside State University, where she is now a school teacher in California for the past two years. So you can see we are just a normal family with the same problems we all might have to deal with day to day. After our sons Sean and Bryce had joined the army, we decided to move to the community of Happy Jack in Northern Arizona. My wife Shannon Is working at the Winslow Indian Health Care Center. This was 2006. I stayed behind to sell our house in Glendale, as my wife went to Happy Jack. We rented a cabin their, and I restarted a new appraisal service their once I settled in August of 2007. During that time period, our boys Sean and Bryce where shipped out to Iraq. Sean was wounded in a ied attack which killed his sergeant and driver of his hum-vee. During that time with the boys overseas, I now know what my mom and dad used to go though or how they used to worry about me being gone. Shannon my wife also worried very, verymuch and did well during this time period with the boys being gone. But I know she was going nuts inside. We wanted to live in Happy Jack for a long time, and it took us a couple of years just to fine the right lot to purchase. We finally found this lot in Blue Ridge. Afterwards, the economy just went down as it did all over our state as well as our nation. So after our landlord, at the time wouldn’t re-negotiate the lease rental agreement, we decided to move to Winslow to save money till things turned around. Since then, things haven’t turned around as many of you know. It appears to me that the state and federal policies have not helped out at all. In a matter of speaking it appears to me and many others that the economy has gotten worse, and with all of the new added tax programs coming down upon us, it led me to decide to try and do something to get our state in line to survive these destructive policies from the federal government as well as policies, by our own state elected officials. This is where I am at now. Proud to be a Candidate for Governor of our great state of Arizona. I ask that if you have concerns or questions, please address them towards me, not my wife or children. Their not running for office I am, so please respect that. And with your support, we can make a difference for our future. Where may God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
